Sponsoring a child at Bethel School can take on many forms from the Food for Thought programme which provides a meal a school day to a full sponsorship which provides everything a child needs to get through school.
One of our longest standing sponsors told us why he sponsored a student at Bethel:
I met Craig [Founder of Giving Africa] and Caroline [CEO of Giving Africa] to learn about the charity and I could almost taste their passion and as a result allowed myself to be talked into undertaking one of the most epic trips I have ever undertaken – trekking up Kilimanjaro to help raise funds for the school at Bethel. To anyone reading this I cannot describe how fulfilling that adventure was, and it raised valuable funds for the school – I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Having started my association with the school through that trip, sponsoring a child seemed like an obvious follow on. I enjoyed a private school education and I have been able to provide the same for my daughters so I am aware of the costs involved over a considerable period of time. When Caroline told me how far my very modest monthly contribution would go if I sponsored a child at Bethel, it was quite simply a no brainer.
I know that for such a small gesture there is a girl in Burkina Faso whose life and future I hope has been improved by the education I am helping her to receive.
To anyone who may be thinking of sponsoring child in the same way, particularly if they have a safe and comfortable life with their own family, I would say it is such a small gesture which can help change the entire future of a child, why would you not do it?
We thank all of our sponsors from the bottom of our hearts for your continued support. We could not do it without you.
